Intersense Partnership
InterSense Inc. a specialist in inertial sensing technology and developer of the ground breaking
NavChip IMU is working with Ocular
Robotics to develop a stabilized RobotEye imaging system, the
RobotEye NC.
Combining the capabilities of the RobotEye to move the field of vision of a camera with previously unheard of acceleration, speed
and accuracy with the NavChip's low drift, high angular rate and small footprint will deliver in the RobotEye NC a system with
unparalleled stabilisation bandwidth. The RobotEye NC has aperture accelerations of greater than 50,000°/s
2 and aperture slew speeds
up to 10,000°/s enabling it to stabilize and simultaneously perform tasks like tracking on any platform almost regardless of the motion
the platform is undergoing. The RobotEye NC's capabilities represent a breakthrough in stabilised vision from manned and unmanned ground,
air and marine platforms, allowing stable vision from vehicles moving quickly over rough terrain, small surface craft moving rapidly over
the ocean surface and dynamically moving aircraft. A prototype RobotEye NC can be seen in operation in this
video.
